About Siren Hunter

A browser game played inside Google Street View. You are dropped at one of the Seven Wonders of the World — the Taj Mahal, Christ the Redeemer, the Colosseum, Machu Picchu, Chichén Itzá, Petra and the Great Wall — and hear a siren beeping somewhere nearby. The siren itself is invisible: you move through the Street View imagery with on-screen arrows or the arrow keys and listen as the beeping speeds up the closer you get, or switch to a radar that shows the siren's direction, which scores fewer points than hunting by ear. Within 15 metres the sound turns constant, and each location gives you seven minutes; finding all seven sirens completes the game. It works with a keyboard and mouse or on a phone. The game page credits Mayank, and the entrant writes that they had been learning coding and vibe coding for six months and started the jam late, on 21 April. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Claude Code as the tool. It finished 426th of 945 entries. Free in the browser.

Development approach

The entrant lists the engine as the Google Maps Street View API plus the Web Audio API and vanilla JavaScript; the scenery is Google's Street View imagery, loaded through Google's API, and the game adds the siren sounds, radar and timer on top.

Verification notes: Tool (Claude Code), engine, genre (Adventure, Simulation), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (No), mobile (Yes) and portal (No) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 1 May 2026, 12:49 UTC; final rank 426 of 945 entries, no award), re-read on 5 Nov 2026; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Developer: the game page credits “Mayank” and links linkedin.com/in/mayankbishwas; the jam data gives the X handle Mayank_Bishwas, whose profile (name Mayank Bishwas) lists sirenhunter.com in its bio in a copy read on 5 Nov 2026 (our own later request to the profile failed). Location and team size are not stated. The seven locations, controls and scoring come from the game's instructions and data file; the game was not played through. The Street View imagery belongs to Google and is shown through Google's Maps API; it is a licensed web service, not franchise IP, so no IP notice is recorded. The game's code was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. The jam page's widget counters were not checked for this game. The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 1 May 2026 (UTC).
