About GREEN Tower Defense

GREEN Tower Defense is a free 3D tower defense game for the browser, built with Three.js and entered in Vibe Jam 2025. You spend gold on Arrow, Double Arrow and Cannon towers to stop waves of enemies before they cost you your lives, and use power cards (Meteor Strike, Freeze Wave, Gold Rush and Empower) paid for with gold and mana; the game's page describes elemental towers. You can send the next wave early, and entering a username puts your score on the game's online high-score list. On phones the map can be rotated and zoomed with two fingers. Zooming out reveals the Vibeverse Portal, which leads to other Vibe Jam games. The developer, Luan Estradioto, writes in the repository README that the game is 99% AI coded using Claude Code and that every line of code was written by Claude through prompts: the developer acted as creative director and prompt engineer and discarded changes and re-prompted rather than fixing code by hand. The exceptions listed are music and sound effects the developer downloaded after AI attempts produced poor results, at most about five small CSS adjustments, and the deployment. The README puts the cost at $228.81 in AI usage and the development time at an estimated 35 to 45 hours, and calls the result more of a prototype than a polished product. The source code is on GitHub under the MIT licence.

How it was built

Partially verified

The developer's README says the game is “99% AI CODED using Claude Code (100% VIBE-CODED)” and that every line of code was written by Claude through prompts. Inspired by Vibe Jam 2025, the developer set out to make a complete game without writing a single line of code, working as creative director and prompt engineer: test the game, prompt Claude with four or five fixes or features at a time, commit stable states, and discard changes and try different prompts instead of fixing code by hand (a “no manual fixes” rule). The first prompt asked for a green, “matrix futuristic” tower defense game in Three.js, and Claude was asked to enhance that prompt; the first two versions were thrown away as hard to maintain. The developer found it most effective to have the AI build helper tools, such as a debug panel for tuning speed, health and spawn values in real time. The README lists the exceptions that make it 99% rather than 100%: the developer downloaded the music and sound effects after AI attempts produced poor results and had the AI implement them, made minimal CSS adjustments (perhaps five times at most), and deployed the game manually. It reports 361,498,911 input tokens and 1,979,572 output tokens.

Supporting evidence
  • DeveloperREADME: “This tower defense game is 99% AI CODED using Claude Code (100% VIBE-CODED)” and “Every line of code was written by Claude through prompts”. — GitHub (LEstradioto)
  • DeveloperStart screen: “99% AI coded.”, linking the GitHub README. — Luan Estradioto
  • OfficialVibe Jam 2025 rule: the game must be at least 80% written by AI (code, assets, etc.); the entry's tool field is empty. — Vibe Jam (Pieter Levels)
Development approach

A Three.js game bundled for the browser, with a small server-side score list. The developer prompted Claude Code in batches of four or five changes, committed stable states and threw away failed attempts instead of editing code, and had the AI build a debug panel (infinite lives, gold and mana, enemy spawning, wave and difficulty controls, grid styles) to tune the game without further prompts. Music and sound effects are downloaded assets whose source is not named; the AI wired them in. Deployment was done by the developer with Coolify.

Verification notes: AI use, workflow, exceptions, token counts, cost ($228.81) and development time (35–45 hours, the developer's own estimate) come from the repository README (LEstradioto/greendefense), re-read on 6 Nov 2026; the README dates its conclusion to March 2025. The official Vibe Jam 2025 games data lists greendefense.space under the X handle EstradiotoLuan (pitch “Green Tower Defense Warcraft 3 Vibes”, genre Real Time Strategy, engine ThreeJS, portal Yes, mobile-ready Yes, multiplayer No, tool field empty), submitted 29 Mar 2025, 16:49 UTC; the jam rules required games to be at least 80% written by AI (code, assets, etc.). No placement is recorded. Towers, power cards, the resources, the high-score list and the portal come from the game page's interface; the game was not played through. The page also shows a “Debug Cards” button and a debug panel, which are tuning tools, not described here as features. The game's script calls only its own score API, Three.js loaders and the jam portal; no calls to AI services were found (checked 6 Nov 2026). Developer: the start screen credits “Made by Luan Estradioto” and links luanestradioto.com (titled “Full Stack Developer & AI Engineer”) and x.com/EstradiotoLuan; LICENSE: “Copyright (c) 2025 Luan Estradioto”. The developer is recorded as solo from the first-person README; team size and location are not stated. Warcraft 3 tower-defense maps are named as inspiration in the README, the first prompt and the jam pitch; no Warcraft names or assets were found in the page or script, so no IP notice is attached. The repository's commits run from 21 Mar to 9 Apr 2025; the release date is not stated.
