About StarSwim
StarSwim is a free arcade game for phone and desktop browsers in which you drag a little fish around the screen to catch falling stars while dodging sea creatures: jellyfish, squid, pufferfish, piranhas, eels and sharks. The main mode is a 93-stage course that introduces each creature one at a time and then mixes them in pairs and trios, and there are also a Daily Challenge and a Sprint mode, power-ups, 25 ocean scenes, original music and leaderboards for today, all time and Sprint. You have a few hearts, and the game ends when they run out. It has no ads and needs no sign-up. The developer, who says they are not a programmer and work in medicine, built it to see whether they could make a real, finished game: they described what they wanted in plain language, such as a squid that shoots its legs up from the sea floor, played every build on a phone and said what felt off, and Claude Code handled the code, the testing and publishing the game to GitHub Pages.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn a post on r/ClaudeAI (26 Oct 2026, UTC) titled “I'm new to coding and built a full 93-stage arcade game with Claude Code”, the developer, who says they are not a programmer, describes the process: they described features in plain language, played every build on a phone and told Claude what felt off (too fast, an unfair hitbox, a confusing pop-up), and “Claude Code handled the code, testing and publishing to GitHub Pages.” The biggest lesson, they write, was that the work shifts from writing code to deciding what you want and being specific about what feels wrong. No model is named.
- DeveloperPost on r/IndieDev the same day: the developer is new to coding, built it “with a lot of help from Claude Code” and focused on the design side (pacing, creature order, power-ups). — Reddit (u/TwoSome22)
Per the developer, they described each feature in plain language, play-tested every build on a phone and reported what felt off, while Claude Code wrote the code, tested it and published it to GitHub Pages. The site loads plain JavaScript files (rules, shapes, drawings, scenery and the game itself) that draw on a canvas, with no framework; the README says the repository only holds the published files and is updated by a script. Scores go to an online leaderboard, an anonymous feedback form sends ratings and comments, and a GoatCounter counter records visits, according to the game's code.

“Claude Code handled the code, testing and publishing to GitHub Pages.”Verification notes: The Claude Code claim comes from the developer's post on r/ClaudeAI by u/TwoSome22 (26 Oct 2026, 15:45 UTC), read from the Arctic Shift Reddit archive because reddit.com did not answer our checks; a post on r/IndieDev seven minutes earlier calls StarSwim the developer's first game and says it was built “with a lot of help from Claude Code”, wording that is weaker than the r/ClaudeAI post. No release date is stated; the first share we found is a post on r/WebGames the same day (14:05 UTC). Modes, creatures, scenes and music come from the posts; the game page (English interface, checked 4 Nov 2026) shows the Play, Daily Challenge and Sprint menu, leaderboards and the feedback form, and its rules file has 93 stages. The game's code sends scores to a Supabase leaderboard, feedback through Web3Forms and visits to GoatCounter; we found no calls to OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini, so no AI is used during play. The repository README was read through raw.githubusercontent.com; its history is unchecked. Who made the music is not stated. The developer's name, team size and location are not stated; the tie between the Reddit account and the game rests on the posts. The game was not played.

Shared on r/IndieDev as the developer's first game and on r/ClaudeAI with an account of building it with Claude Code.
