About AQUA BLUE 〜失われた海の記憶〜
AQUA BLUE 〜失われた海の記憶〜 (subtitle: memories of a lost sea) is a free 3D underwater exploration game in the browser. In the story, an old sea chart found among your late grandmother's belongings, together with the lullaby she used to sing, sends you by boat to a cove of a southern island. You dive from the boat and swim through a coral garden, a rock tower circled by manta rays, a sunken temple, a blue cave and the cliffs of the open sea, photographing creatures to fill a field guide of 20 species, rated one to three stars by how well each shot is framed, and searching for eight glowing memory fragments that carry the voices of the people who once lived on the drowned island. There is no combat and no game over: air runs down faster the deeper and faster you swim, but when it runs out the captain simply pulls you back onto the boat and you keep everything you collected. It is made for PC, played with keyboard and mouse or a gamepad, and saves progress and settings in the browser and photos in IndexedDB. The README says the island, seabed, temple, boat, creatures, water surface, sky, music and sound effects are all generated in code, with no image, 3D model or audio files in the game. The README credits planning and direction to the developer, たぬ (tanuu5), and development to Claude Code with Claude Opus 5.5 at the MAX reasoning level. The game is in Japanese, and the code and text are MIT-licensed.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe README credits “企画・ディレクション:たぬ / 開発:Claude Code(Claude Opus 5.5・推論レベル MAX)” (planning and direction: たぬ; development: Claude Code with Claude Opus 5.5 at the MAX reasoning level) and says the game was made with Claude Code and Claude Opus 5.5 (MAX). Per the README, たぬ supplied four AI-generated images of a game that does not exist (a title screen, mantas over a reef, a sunken ruin and a blue cave) as a starting point, and these were turned into a playable game; the images themselves are not used in it. Which tool made those images is not stated.
- DeveloperThe developer's note says six browser works, AQUA BLUE among them, were made with Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) between 3 and 7 Oct 2026 and published on GitHub. — note (たぬ / tank_ai)
Directed by たぬ, with Claude Code doing the development from four AI-generated mock-up images. Per the README, the seabed is built from a height function and the island, caves, arch, rock towers and statue head from signed distance functions; underwater light uses per-colour absorption, god rays, caustics computed from the refracting surface and bloom, with light and shadow baked once into a depth map at start-up. Fish school with a boids simulation, and mantas, turtles, morays, jellyfish, dolphins and a whale shark have their own movements. Music and sound effects are synthesised live with Web Audio, and the lullaby's melody and lyrics and the story text were written for the game. The project builds with Vite and deploys to GitHub Pages through GitHub Actions. The developer's note says that partway through, they built development assets as Claude Code skills (for checking 3D models and sharing UI/UX rules) to use fewer tokens.

- Developer's note on six browser works made in five days (Japanese)
Verification notes: Gameplay, credits, techniques and the release date (2026-10-04, from the README's update history) come from the README, read through raw.githubusercontent.com on 4 Nov 2026; the MIT licence is from the LICENSE file (© 2026 たぬ). The README also says the MIT licence does not grant use of the Claude name or trademark. github.com and the GitHub API did not answer our checks, so commit dates and stars are unchecked. The developer's note of 8 Oct 2026 groups the game with five other works made with Claude Code between 3 and 7 Oct 2026 and says AQUA BLUE is for PC with keyboard and mouse (or gamepad). The hosted game loaded on 4 Nov 2026 (page language ja); its script contains no calls to AI services. The README says creature names are those of real species, with shapes and movement stylised for the game. Team size is not stated; the README names たぬ for planning and direction and no other person. The game was not played.
