About Deep Fried
Deep Fried is a turn-based dungeon-diving roguelite about cooking what you kill. Saffron, a young cook, follows her grandfather's salt-stained recipe book into the Gullet, a living dungeon he went into years ago and never came back from, to finish its last, half-written dish, the First Supper. How you take a monster down shapes the ingredients it leaves, so a burned slime and a frozen one make different meals. Between floors you make camp and cook: meals heal you, fill your belly, give buffs and are your only source of mana, so your spells run on food. After any floor you can climb home to Hearthwell to bank your haul; push deeper for rarer ingredients, but if you die, the Gullet takes half of what you carried on the run. The developer, RyderLink (u/rychder on Reddit), calls it a side project inspired by Delicious in Dungeon, says it is vibe coded, with Claude doing the majority of the code and execution and Gemini drawing the characters and food, and describes it as a work in progress. Free in the browser on itch.io, made for phone and desktop per the developer; in English, listed as a prototype.

“Claude is doing the majority of the heavy lifting with code and execution, while Gemini is contributing the character and food artwork!”Verification notes: AI use from the developer's post on r/aigamedev by u/rychder (16 Oct 2026, 02:13 UTC), read from the Arctic Shift Reddit archive; story, mechanics, status (Prototype), platform (HTML5), genre and AI disclosure from the itch.io page (published 14 Oct 2026, 04:16 UTC; updated 16 Oct 2026, 00:56 UTC), re-read on 5 Nov 2026. “The majority of the heavy lifting with code” is the developer's wording; no share is given and the post does not name Claude Code, so the tool is recorded as Claude and no code share is recorded. The itch.io AI disclosure ticks only Code, although the post says Gemini made the character and food art. The Reddit account and the itch.io account RyderLink are tied only by the post linking the page in the first person. The developer names Delicious in Dungeon as inspiration; the game uses its own title, setting and characters, so no IP notice is recorded. The page title spells the subtitle “Rougelite”. A check of the shipped scripts on 5 Nov 2026 found no AI service calls. Team size and location are not stated. No rating is shown and itch.io shows no download count. The game was not played.
