About SimDrive
A multiplayer racing game in the browser that uses phones as controllers. A computer, tablet or TV shows the race; each player scans a QR code, tilts the phone to steer and slides a thumb up on the right side to accelerate or down on the left side to brake, with proportional pedals, and the phone gives haptic and sound feedback for engine, tyre slip, kerbs and rain. Up to four players can share one screen in split screen, and friends on another computer can join with a room code to get their own race screen. You choose laps, track, rain, ghost cars and assists, and can run a three-race championship in which drivers vote for the next track on their phones. Tracks include an Alpine Grand Prix, fjord, causeway and mountain-pass loops and short sprints, and cars range from a formula prototype and a 125 cc shifter kart to a stock truck, a road car and a tuk-tuk. The entrant describes it as a multiplayer racing simulator with phones as controllers and “reasonable car physics”, inspired by party games played with friends, and calls it their first game. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Codex as the tool. It finished 123rd of 945 entries. Free; it needs a display device plus a phone for each player.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Codex as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field, and writes that the game is “made with love <3” and “tokens, lol”. No devlog describes how Codex was used or which model ran it. The game also shows an automated lap board titled “Codex benchmarks”, recorded on 3 Nov 2026; the submission covers the jam version only, not later updates.
- OfficialJam rule 3: at least 90% of the code has to be written by AI. — Vibe Jam (Pieter Levels)
Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 on Three.js (with React Three Fiber), with Codex named as the tool. The game splits into a display side and a phone controller side joined by QR code or room code; the phone side reads tilt for steering and drives haptic and sound feedback.

“this game carries my love for these games that gave me and my friends so much laughter, joy, yelling and hoarse throats”Verification notes: Tool (Codex), engine (ThreeJS), genre (Simulation, Racing), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (Yes), mobile (No) and portal (No) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 27 Apr 2026, 19:19 UTC; final rank 123 of 945 entries, no award), re-read on 4 Nov 2026; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. The entrant adds that the game is technically mobile-ready but in practice needs two phones; the game itself says it currently needs a display and a controller, and that a single-screen mobile-only version is being worked on. Developer: the jam data gives the X handle 1000xcat, whose profile's display name is Silly Goose and links sillygoose.fyi; neither the profile nor that site mentions the game, and no real name or team size is given. The entrant names Jackbox Games, Gaming Couch, Mario Kart and the PS3's motion controller as inspirations; no names or assets from them were found in the game's files. Some track descriptions in the game compare its fictional tracks to real places and series (“Suzuka-style esses”, “Spa-style elevation, Monza-style speed”, the Florida Keys Overseas Highway, an “F1-style” and a “NASCAR-truck-inspired” car); the tracks and cars themselves carry original names, so no IP notice is attached. Controls, modes, tracks and cars come from text in the game's script; the game was not played. The “Codex benchmarks” board describes solo laps recorded on 3 Nov 2026; it shows the game is still being updated. The game's code was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. The jam page's widget counter showed 3,163 plays for simdrive.xyz on 4 Nov 2026 (observed; plays are sessions, not players or downloads, so not recorded as a metric). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 27 Apr 2026.
