The game's script names and models Tesla vehicles, including the Model X, Model Y and Cybertruck, for a “Tesla lineup” course, has a challenge in which you collect the letters of TESLA, and includes a Starship whose figures cite spacex.com. The developer calls it a meme game. No source shows a licence or any connection to Tesla or SpaceX. (jonniek (GitHub Pages))

About Flying Car Simulator

Flying Car Simulator is a free driving and flying game for the browser. You drive, boost and lift a sports car into the air and fly it through ten locations, from a reveal stage and a lineup jump to a loop, a city, a highway, a canyon, a flyover and a test track, with challenges to clear, hidden tricks, suction to stick to surfaces and a radio. It plays solo or in multiplayer, with ten bots joining when the lobby is empty, using keyboard, controller or touch controls. The developer, jonniek, calls it a multiplayer meme game made in a few days, and the loading screen reads “A game about the future. Any resemblance to the present is coincidental.” Some courses feature Tesla vehicles and a SpaceX Starship (see the notice below). The developer says Codex with the model Astra did most of the work and Claude Code with Opus 5.5 polished the graphics and models, over 215 prompts, with a three.js client and a Rust server. Free on GitHub Pages, in English.

How it was built

Partially verified
CodexPrimary

In a post on r/aigamedev (19 Oct 2026, UTC) the developer writes: “Made with codex(20x) Astra ultra/max and Claude Code(1x) Opus 5.5 XHigh. Astra did most of the work while Opus did polish on graphics and models. Workflow was just chatting and iterating on it.” The developer counts 215 prompts (72 of them steering), 84% of a weekly Codex allowance and 60% of a weekly Claude allowance, and 1.1 billion input tokens (98% cached) and 4.7 million output tokens, about US$1,200 at API prices.

Claude CodeSecondary

The same post says Claude Code with Opus 5.5 (XHigh) polished the graphics and models, while Codex did most of the work.

Development approach

Per the developer, built by chatting with and iterating on Codex (model Astra), which did most of the work, with Claude Code (Opus 5.5) polishing graphics and models, over a few days. The stack is a three.js client and a Rust server; the developer reports a load test that handled 324 concurrent clients across nine shards at 86% CPU on a VPS with one shared CPU core and 2 GB of RAM. The vehicles are modelled in the game's script with real dimensions.

Verification notes: AI use, the prompt and token figures and the load test come from the developer's post on r/aigamedev by u/Important_Luck_3546 (19 Oct 2026, 16:35 UTC), read from the Arctic Shift Reddit archive because reddit.com did not answer our checks. “Most of the work” is the developer's wording, so no code share is recorded; the US$1,200 is the developer's estimate at API prices, not money spent, so no development cost is recorded. The Reddit name differs from the GitHub account jonniek, so the tie rests on the post linking the game. The itch.io page linked in the post (jonniek.itch.io/flying-car-simulator) returned 404 on 4 Nov 2026 and is not listed; the GitHub repository could not be checked. Locations, controls and modes come from the game page and its script (checked 4 Nov 2026). The release date is not stated. No AI service addresses were found in the game's scripts. Team size and location are not stated. The game was not played.
