About Sky Patent
A short shoot-'em-up in the browser, drawn in a blueprint-chalk style. Your rival has stolen the sky: you fly a flying machine of your own design over the town, and its guns fire by themselves while you dodge the red shots. Everything you shoot drops scrap, and the rival's carriers drop the patents for new parts. Back in the workshop you spend them to build and upgrade four parts on your blueprint (twin guns, a propeller, wings and a sail), each with two level II designs to choose from, such as piercing shots or paper darts, a dash or full throttle, a double sail or a mirror sail; what you build decides how the next mission plays. Each fitted part takes one hit, and losing them all means a crash. There are three missions, over the town, the river and the hills, each ending with a boss (the rival's airship, a river barge and the flagship), with pigeons, cog birds, balloon mines, kite snipers, rival biplanes and eraser drones in the way, and up to three stars per mission. On a phone held sideways you drag anywhere to fly and tap to build; on a computer you use the arrow keys, WASD or the mouse. The developer, Cocolito Collective, says Claude (Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code) wrote all of the JavaScript, drew every sprite in code and composed the music and sound effects in code, with Claude chat for planning. Made for Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 2 (theme Crafting, restriction Playable on Mobile), where it ranked 6th overall and 1st for Fun. Free in the browser on itch.io.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's jam answer: Sky Patent was made with Claude, “Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code for the building”, and “Claude wrote all of the JavaScript (flight, the workshop, three missions and their bosses, saving, the sound engine), one batch at a time.” The developer approved each batch's plan before it was built and playtested every build on a PC and an iPhone. Claude drew every sprite in code in a blueprint-chalk style (the developer says there are no image files; the game loads one SVG asset sheet, which the in-game credits say was drawn with Claude before the jam), composed the music and sound effects in code, wrote bot pilots whose runs were used to tune the scrap economy and difficulty, and wrote hundreds of automated Firefox checks plus “probes” that break the game on purpose to prove each check catches the bug.
- Developeritch.io credits: “Built with Claude (Anthropic)”; the AI disclosure ticks AI Assisted, Code, Graphics and Sounds. — itch.io
Per the same answer, Claude chat was used “for planning and design”.
Made for Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 2 in batches: the developer approved each plan and playtested on a PC and an iPhone, and Claude Code wrote the JavaScript. The sprites are drawn in code and baked with a chalk filter when the game loads; the in-game credits add that the raw asset sheet was drawn with Claude before the jam. The music and sound effects are composed in code. No AI runs in the game. Font: Architects Daughter (SIL Open Font License).

“Claude wrote all of the JavaScript (flight, the workshop, three missions and their bosses, saving, the sound engine), one batch at a time.”Verification notes: AI use from the developer's answer on the official Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 2 submission page; gameplay, controls, credits and AI disclosure from the itch.io page; both re-read on 6 Nov 2026. The 100% AI code share reflects “Claude wrote all of the JavaScript”, as for the developer's earlier Laser Dot; the model is quoted as the developer writes it. The jam's own rule (“AI must be part of the build”) is not code-specific. The submission's team list reads “Daniel (Cocolito Collective), design, direction and playtesting” and “Claude (Anthropic), code, art and sound”, so team size is recorded as one; the developer record (shared with Laser Dot and Tidewick) keeps its type as before. The in-game credits also say the raw asset sheet was drawn with Claude before the jam. Publication (20 Oct 2026, 15:57 UTC) and last update (26 Oct 2026, 13:57 UTC) from the itch.io page; the submission page said it was submitted 2 days and 15 hours before the 23 Oct, 07:00 UTC deadline. The page lists no languages field; the text is English. Jam results (7 ratings): 6th overall of 37 (3.810), 1st in Fun, 7th in Polish, 18th in Use of AI. The game's modules (about 45 ES modules) were checked: they load only local sound files and the asset sheet and make no calls to AI services. itch.io shows no public rating and no download count. The game was not played.
