About 焚き火日和

焚き火日和 (Takibi Biyori) is a free camping game for the browser in which you spend a whole night at a campsite in Japan in autumn. You arrive at 2 pm, pitch the tent and tarp, gather and split firewood, light a fire and cook dinner, spend the evening by the fire, then make coffee in the morning, pack up and go home; a night takes about 50 minutes, or about 25 on the short setting. The heat of the fire matters: rice in a hangou burns if the fire is too strong and stays hard if it is too weak, and there are nine recipes. The weather changes each night, so on rainy nights you get wet, dry off by the fire and shelter under the tarp; the crackle of the fire, the river and the autumn insects sound different inside the tent. You can look for eight kinds of birds by their calls with binoculars, move your gear around, switch between first- and third-person views and earn 24 achievements, and cooking, filming and nights spent unlock more gear and recipes. A camera on a tripod records real mp4 video, in vertical 9:16 or horizontal 16:9, for you to post yourself; the game has no view counts or scoring. There are three campsites: a river valley with cedar and autumn leaves, a lakeside facing Mount Fuji and a highland meadow under the stars. Optional expansion packs with gear of a different shape, light or sound cost ¥300 each. The game was first published in August 2026 as 渓谷キャンプ (Keikoku Camp), in which filmed clips were scored and posted for views and subscribers. In a Zenn article the developer, yohsuke_zw, says one message to Claude Code produced the browser game in three days, with eleven AI agents working in parallel. Scenery, gear and sound are almost all generated in code. In Japanese and English; made for PC browsers, with touch controls still being adjusted.

How it was built

Partially verified

In a Zenn article the developer says one message to Claude Code produced a browser game in three days. The first prompt (15 Aug 2026, 20:38) asked for a camping simulation with Japanese scenery and gear, built to AAA quality from textures to physics, with sub-agents assigned to each part, each part looped, and another sub-agent acting as a harsh visual critic; the article says Claude Code first replied that AAA quality was not achievable and reframed the goals into achievable ones. Eleven AI agents then ran in parallel, with a CONTRACT.md file fixing which files each agent could change, and three other AI agents were shown screenshots without being told their origin and asked to classify them as a photo, an AAA screenshot or student-level real-time CG. The developer reports more than 13 bugs, none of them missing code: in every case the code was written and built without errors but its effect never reached the screen. The developer took part in diagnosing bugs (the article records one wrong guess by the developer).

Development approach

Built from one long prompt by about eleven AI agents running in parallel under Claude Code, each owning specific files per a CONTRACT.md, with screenshots captured under fixed conditions and scored by separate AI critics over several rounds. Per the article, the August build used Three.js r185, Rapier for physics and Web Audio for all sound, in about 130 source files with two runtime dependencies, and contained no images, 3D models or audio files: tent fabric, fire, river and insect sounds were generated at start-up. The current site says scenery, gear and sound are almost all generated in code.

Verification notes: AI use and the August build's tech stack come from the developer's Zenn article of 22 Aug 2026 (author yohsuke_zw, whose Zenn profile links zen-works.biz and describes a solo developer in Kobe). The current features, campsites, prices and the solo statement (“ひとりで作っています”) come from the official site, read on 5 Nov 2026, whose seller page names Zen Works and lists the ¥300 pack. The play address linked in the article, keikoku-camp.vercel.app, served the same 焚き火日和 page that day, so we treat Keikoku Camp and 焚き火日和 as one game renamed; the developer has not stated the rename in a source we found. The site does not mention AI. The article's first prompt names Camping Vlog Simulator 2024 as the quality bar and calls it the original, asking for Japanese scenery and gear instead; the article says screenshots of that game were not used, and we found no names or assets from it. The itch.io page's AI disclosure reads “AI Assisted: Code, Graphics, Sounds, Text”. The earliest comment on the itch.io page is dated 18 Aug 2026. The game's script offers 日本語 and English language buttons and contacts no AI services. The developer's separate mahjong game, which uses AI characters at play time, is not part of this record.

Development history

  1. The developer sends the first prompt to Claude Code (20:38, Japan time); a playable browser game follows in three days.

  2. Earliest comment on the itch.io page of Keikoku Camp.

  3. The developer's Zenn article on the build is published, linking the play address and the itch.io page.

  4. The play address from the article now serves the game under the name 焚き火日和, with three campsites and paid expansion packs.

Name and video loop
The Zenn article and the itch.io page call the game 渓谷キャンプ / Keikoku Camp, a Vlog simulator in which you publish clips and watch views, likes and subscribers come back; the current official site calls it 焚き火日和 and says the game has no view counts or scoring and that you post the videos yourself.
