About Z-Bonk
A zombie survival shooter in the browser, played solo or online in co-op. You survive rounds of zombies, earn points, spin a mystery box for weapons, and between waves pick one of three upgrades or press G to gamble; you can sprint, slide and switch on a flashlight, and a downed player bleeds out unless a teammate holds E to revive them. Online games run through a server browser in which players host their own lobbies (up to four players, with an optional password), and characters speak pre-recorded voice lines. The entrant's pitch: “A COD Zombies/Megabonk inspired Rougelite, zombie survival shooter.” The entrant says big engines like Unity and Unreal had always seemed too hard to learn, that agentic tools turned out to be the way forward, and that, since starting with Cursor, the entrant has attempted several game projects without prior knowledge of the technologies; Z-Bonk is described as the product of the hours spent learning those systems. It was made with Three.js for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Cursor as the tool. It finished 248th of 945 entries. Free in the browser, played with keyboard and mouse.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Cursor as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field, and writes that since starting with Cursor the entrant has used agentic tools to attempt several game projects without prior knowledge of the underlying technologies. No devlog describes how Cursor was used or which model ran in it. A comment in the game's code mentions ElevenLabs for the voice clips; the sources do not say how the 3D models were made.

Verification notes: Tool (Cursor), engine (ThreeJS), genre (Action, Shooter), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (Yes), mobile (No) and portal (No) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 11 Apr 2026, 19:23 UTC; final rank 248 of 945 entries, no award), re-read on 6 Nov 2026; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Developer: pseudonymous. The game's menu credits @oongaboonga420x, the entrant's handle; that X profile (MarcelMedia) writes in the first person about making games. Features (mystery box, wave picks and gamble, revive, server browser with optional password, the x/4 player count) from the game's page and scripts; the game was not played.
