The entrant pitches the game as “Missile Command arcade game re-imagined as a 360 degree game with Asteroids”, and the game page's description says “Inspired by Missile Command”. The developer's blog post says the original game's source code was used as reference material to match its features and gameplay. The title is the developer's own. No source shows a licence or permission from Atari. (Mark Krynsky (krynsky.com))

About Earth Command

A free retro arcade shooter for the browser that turns missile defence into a full circle. You guard Earth, drawn as a globe ringed with missile silos, against attacks from every direction; per the game's code, the attackers include ballistic missiles, MIRVs, UFOs, smart bombs and asteroids, and scores go on a persistent global leaderboard. The developer, Mark Krynsky, pitches it as Missile Command re-imagined as a 360-degree game with Asteroids, and writes that Missile Command was a favourite arcade game in childhood. In a blog post the developer describes firing up Claude Code and pointing it at the jam's rules page and required widgets to generate the game, giving it the Wikipedia article and the original game's source code as reference material, then iterating on the gameplay, adding the Asteroids mash-up and the leaderboard and deploying it on Vercel. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Claude Code as the tool. It finished 298th of 945 entries. Plays in desktop and mobile browsers, with on-screen buttons on touch devices.

How it was built

Partially verified

The developer's blog post says Claude Code was pointed at the Vibe Jam rules page, together with some of the required widgets and functionality, to generate the game; the developer then supplied reference material (the Wikipedia article and the original game's source code), iterated on the gameplay, fine-tuned details and added the Asteroids mash-up and a persistent leaderboard. The official Vibe Jam 2026 submission lists Claude Code as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. No code share is given.

Development approach

Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 with Three.js, by the developer's account by having Claude Code generate the game from the jam rules and then iterating on the gameplay, using the Wikipedia article and the original Missile Command source code as reference.
