About Ship Snatch
A top-down hex tower-defence and base-building game in the browser with a claymation pirate look. You grow an archipelago one hex at a time, paying coins to claim a new ocean tile whose type is rolled when you take it, and place and upgrade defences such as cannon towers, rapid swivel guns and mortar batteries, plus shipyards, signal towers that extend weapon range and buildings that produce treasure and supplies. Your Captain's Keep earns treasure over time, and if it is destroyed the run ends. Fleets arrive automatically, a Broadside attack can be fired when ships gather, and the solo campaign runs 12 waves, with heavier ships, a ghost fleet and finally the Kraken. The entrant pitches it as playable solo or in co-op for up to 32 players, and says the aim was a cute claymation-style game that would appeal to a nine-year-old nephew and still interest adults. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Cursor, Tripo and Gemini as the tools. It finished 107th of 945 entries. Free in the browser with no account; the site now announces a version 2.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists “Cursor, Tripo, Gemini” as the tools and answers Yes to the AI-written field. Tripo is a 3D-model generator and Gemini is Google's AI assistant; the submission does not say which tool made which part, whether Gemini wrote code, or which model ran inside Cursor. It covers the jam version only, not the later version 2.

Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 on Three.js, with Cursor, Tripo and Gemini named as the tools. Multiplayer rooms run through Colyseus on the game's own server.

“I wanted to create a cute claymation style game that will appeal to my 9yo nephew but still be interesting to play by adults as well.”Verification notes: Tools (Cursor, Tripo, Gemini), engine (ThreeJS), genre (Tower Defense), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (Yes), mobile (Yes) and portal (Yes) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 1 May 2026, 10:19 UTC; final rank 107 of 945 entries, no award), re-read on 4 Nov 2026; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Developer: the site credits “Radomir” and links x.com/radomir_3, the handle in the jam data; that X profile could not be read on 4 Nov 2026, so no surname, location or team size is recorded. The co-op mode for up to 32 players is from the entrant's pitch; the landing page's play button starts a solo game, and whether co-op is still offered in version 2 was not checked. Buildings, resources, waves and the Kraken come from text in the game's script; the game was not played. The script also has a debug mode in which upgrades cost nothing, which is not presented as a player feature. The landing page announces “ShipSnatch v2”, so the current build differs from the jam version. The game's code was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. The jam page's widget counters showed 628 plays and 101 portal transfers for shipsnatch.com on 4 Nov 2026 (observed; plays are sessions, not players or downloads, so neither is recorded as a metric). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 1 May 2026.
Development history
Entered in the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 (submission date in the official games data, 10:19 UTC); the jam required at least 90% AI-written code. Final rank 107 of 945 entries, no award.
