About Singularity: AI Tycoon
A turn-based strategy game for iPhone and iPad about the race to build AGI. Each quarter you decide what to research (Language, Vision, Agents, Data, Safety, Security), which products to ship to fund the next breakthrough, whom to hire and how to deal with rival labs, including sabotage. Push too fast and your AI drifts out of alignment, which you never see as a number; play it safe and a rival gets there first, and campaigns can end anywhere from utopia to catastrophe. There is a Classic campaign across five eras and a roughly 15-minute roguelite Race mode, with six founders who each change how the game plays. AI is the game's subject, not something running inside it: the developer, Behrooz Zakeri, describes a deterministic TypeScript engine with a seeded random generator. In posts on r/ClaudeAI and r/aigamedev the developer says it was their first game, made in six weeks with Claude Code, which wrote the engine test-first and a bot that plays thousands of campaigns to check balance. The art was made with SDXL and the soundtrack with AI, per the developer. Free with no ads; one optional purchase unlocks the other four founders. Also on Android.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's posts, titled “I used Claude Code to build a full strategy mobile game about the current AI race”, say Claude wrote the deterministic TypeScript core (a single advanceTurn function with a seeded random generator, so any run replays exactly) test-first, with about 400 tests guarding the engine so balance changes could ship continuously. Claude also built a headless bot that plays thousands of full campaigns in seconds to check every difficulty change. The developer stresses it was not hands-off: they playtested every evening and, with testers, shaped the mechanics and UI until each difficulty felt right.
- DeveloperThe same account's post on r/aigamedev a day later repeats the account and adds that the developer built the game in free time after being made redundant. — Reddit (via reddit.sentinel-team.org archive)
A deterministic engine built test-first: one advanceTurn function and a seeded random generator, so any campaign can be replayed from its seed and inputs, guarded by about 400 tests. A headless bot played thousands of campaigns to validate difficulty changes; the developer notes it reports a 0% win rate on the hardest tier only because it never learned the sabotage that tier needs, so it measures careless play rather than difficulty. Evening playtests and outside testers shaped the mechanics and UI, with fixes shipped over the air. Art was generated with SDXL on the developer's own GPU and the soundtrack with AI, all hand-curated, per the developer.

Verification notes: AI use from two posts by u/Reasonable-Ad-2070, on r/ClaudeAI and r/aigamedev, read through mirror snapshots captured 30 and 31 Jul 2026 (the original reddit.com URLs were not checked). Both say “I used Claude Code” in the title and then “Claude” in the body, and both link this App Store app and the Google Play version. The link between the Reddit account and the App Store seller, Behrooz Zakeri, is not formally confirmed: it rests on the posts' first-person claim and the matching store links, and the app's privacy policy (on a GitHub Pages site under bazman88, contact b.zakeri88) does not mention the account. The developer writes in the first person but mentions testers and says “we” about tuning, so team size is left undisclosed. The posts give no code share; the game is listed as vibe-coded because the developer credits Claude Code with building the engine, tests and balance bot and describes their own role as playtesting and tuning. No runtime generative AI: AI is the game's theme, the developer describes a deterministic seeded engine that works offline, and the privacy policy lists only Google Play billing, RevenueCat and Sentry as data processors. Release date, price, in-app purchase, requirements and languages from the US App Store page and Apple's lookup data (version 1.0, 29 Jul 2026). The App Store showed 4.0 out of 5 from 1 rating on 3 Nov 2026 (observed; not recorded as a metric). The Google Play version (com.baz.singularity), linked from both posts, is not listed because Google Play is not a platform we track. Not related to the Steam game “AI Tycoon”.
