About TANUKI RUSH
TANUKI RUSH is a free 3D high-speed action game in the browser. You play a tanuki in a red headband who rides a magic leaf as a board down the slopes of a hillside town and runs through its streets, from the top of the hill to a goal on the bay, on a course of about 5.7 km that takes just under two minutes. Running is automatic: you steer left and right, jump and boost, collecting leaves that fill the boost gauge. There are loops, runs up and down the walls of buildings, grinds along power lines, homing attacks that chain from enemy to enemy across gaps, tricks off jump ramps and a runaway truck that chases you from behind; you lose leaves when hit and miss when hit with none. Each run is ranked S to D from time and score, and the best record is saved in the browser. It plays with keyboard, gamepad or touch on PC and smartphones. The README calls it a completely original small game made as an homage to early-2000s 3D high-speed action games. According to the README, Claude, running in Claude Code with Claude Opus 5.5 at MAX effort, generated everything as code: the program, the course layout, the 3D models of the tanuki, the town and the truck, the textures and the music and sound effects, with no image or audio files; the developer, たぬ (tanuu5), did the planning and playtesting. The developer's note says one stage can be played to the end. In Japanese; the code is MIT-licensed.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe README says the game was made with Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 (reasoning effort MAX) and that, in Claude Code, Claude generated everything as code: “Claude Code 上で、プログラムはもちろん、コースのレイアウト、3D モデル(タヌキ・街並み・トラック)、テクスチャ、BGM・効果音まで、すべて Claude がコードとして生成しています。” (In Claude Code, Claude generated everything as code: the program, the course layout, the 3D models of the tanuki, the town and the truck, the textures, and the music and sound effects.) No image or audio asset files are used. Credits: planning and playtesting, たぬ; production, Claude Opus 5.5 (MAX).
- DeveloperThe developer's note says four browser works, TANUKI RUSH among them, were made with Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) in about 18 hours and published on GitHub. — note (たぬ / tank_ai)
Planned and playtested by たぬ, with Claude in Claude Code generating the program and all assets as code. Per the README, the track is a spline built turtle-style and turned into a mesh, the course, terrain, town, sky and sea are defined in code, a chase camera follows the course, and particles and post effects (radial blur, speed lines, chromatic aberration) and Web Audio music and sound are all generated. Debug URL parameters set the quality, a start distance on the course, or a bot that plays the game for testing. The project builds with Vite and deploys to GitHub Pages through GitHub Actions.

Verification notes: Gameplay, controls, credits and AI use come from the README, read through raw.githubusercontent.com on 4 Nov 2026; the MIT licence is from the LICENSE file (© 2026 たぬ). github.com and the GitHub API did not answer our checks, so commit dates and stars are unchecked. The README gives no release date. The developer's note of 29 Sep 2026 says the four works were made between 22:01 on 26 Sep and 15:59 on 27 Sep 2026 (JST, about 18 hours) and published on GitHub, but does not say when each one went live, so no release date is recorded; the note also says one stage of TANUKI RUSH can be played to the end and that it supports smartphones. The README calls the game an homage to early-2000s 3D high-speed action games and a completely original work; no other game is named. The hosted game loaded on 4 Nov 2026 (page language ja); its script contains no calls to AI services. Team size is not stated. The game was not played.
