Rights holder / original work: Asteroids (Atari)
The game is the developer's own work, but its scripts include an arcade-cabinet item whose only game is titled “ASTEROIDS” with the year 1979 and the blurb “Destroy the rocks · avoid the saucer”, using the name of Atari's arcade game. No source mentions a licence or any connection to Atari. (guinetik)
VibeGameDB lists this game only to document that it was made with AI coding tools. We do not host it, we do not represent the rights holder, and listing it does not mean it is licensed.

About Asteroid Lander
A physics-driven space game in the browser. The game's page sums it up as surveying hostile rocks, sticking the landing and uncovering buried missions: you approach an asteroid, touch down safely and find out what hides in the regolith. The entrant's pitch is to explore the Solar System one asteroid at a time, and names space exploration and the Artemis II mission as the inspiration. On 6 Nov 2026 the game's scripts describe much more than a lander: a retired lander operator receives a refurbished shuttle and flies it between planets, moons and the asteroid belt, using orbits and gravity slingshots and managing fuel and charge; on the surface there is mining, science scans and spacewalks to repair satellites, contracts from factions such as the Ceres Institute and a consortium, upgrades for the shuttle, and first-person combat against silicate creatures called viroids. It plays in a desktop browser; on a phone the page shows a trailer and says a mobile version is coming soon. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Cursor as the tool, and it finished 559th of 945 entries. Free.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Cursor as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. No devlog describes how Cursor was used or which model, and the submission covers the jam version only; the game has grown since, and the sources do not say how the later work was done.
- OfficialJam rule 3: at least 90% of the code has to be written by AI. — Vibe Jam (Pieter Levels)
Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 with Cursor named as the tool. The current build is a Vue app bundled with Vite that loads Three.js, a post-processing library and the Howler audio library, split into views for the solar-system map, the shuttle, the lander, first-person spacewalks and stations.

Verification notes: Tool (Cursor), engine (ThreeJS), genre (Adventure, Simulation), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (No), mobile (No) and portal (Yes) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 1 May 2026, 03:17 UTC; final rank 559 of 945 entries, no award), re-read on 6 Nov 2026; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. The summary line comes from the page's description; the story, shuttle, mining, contracts, factions, spacewalks and first-person combat come from strings in the game's scripts on 6 Nov 2026 and were not played, so how much of this is finished content is not confirmed. The game has clearly been extended since the jam (the page has a changelog panel whose data file did not load); the Cursor answer covers the jam version. The arcade minigame named ASTEROIDS is recorded under the IP notice. Developer: pseudonymous; the X profile @guinetik (“I make computers do stuff”, location Brazil) links guinetik.com, and the game is on a guinetik.com subdomain. No real name or team size is given. Languages in the build list (TypeScript, JavaScript) are inferred from the Vue and Vite bundle and not stated by the developer. The game's scripts were checked for calls to AI services and none were found. The jam page's widget counters showed 83 plays and 18 portal transfers for asteroids.guinetik.com on 6 Nov 2026 (observed; plays are sessions, not players or downloads, so neither is recorded as a metric). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 1 May 2026.
