About Cybertaxi
A free cyberpunk arcade game for the browser in which you pilot a hover taxi through a procedurally built neon city. You choose one of five passenger pickups, fly to the drop-off before the fare runs down, and earn credits while rival taxis give chase as your heat rises; along the way there are EMP charges and super-boost pickups, rooftop recharge stations for your energy, special high-value fares, fake passengers who turn out to be ambushes, storms and searchlights, and an endgame with a survival phase and an extraction point. The jam pitch has you hijack a robo-taxi and race through the city to earn your freedom. Voiced narration and dialogue play throughout. The developer, Todd Goates, says the idea came from playing The Simpsons: Hit and Run with a friend when younger, and that the music was made with Suno and the voice acting with ElevenLabs. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Codex as the tool. It finished 578th of 945 entries. Played with the keyboard; the source code is on GitHub.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Codex as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. Neither the developer's project page nor the repository's README describes how Codex was used. The project page says the music was made with Suno and the voice acting with ElevenLabs; the submission says the developer wanted to see what using other AI technologies such as Suno and ElevenLabs for music and spoken dialogue would be like.
- OfficialJam rule 3: at least 90% of the code has to be written by AI. — Vibe Jam (Pieter Levels)
Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 with Three.js, Vite and plain JavaScript modules, with Codex named as the tool. Music made with Suno and voice acting with ElevenLabs, per the developer; the audio ships as files with the game. Hosted on AWS S3 with CloudFront.

“I submitted this game to the 2026 Vibejam game jam. Unfortunately it didn't place but I had a blast making it and learned a ton about Three.js and game development in general.”Verification notes: Tool (Codex), engine (ThreeJS), genre (Action, Racing), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (No), mobile (No) and portal (No) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 22 Apr 2026, 04:55 UTC; final rank 578 of 945 entries, no award), re-read on 6 Nov 2026; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. The code claim rests on the jam submission and rule 3; the developer's own project page and the README do not mention Codex or AI coding. Features, controls and the tech stack from the repository's README (read on 6 Nov 2026 via raw.githubusercontent.com); Suno, ElevenLabs and hosting from the developer's Projects page. No licence file was found in the repository, so the game is not tagged open source. Developer: the jam entry's X handle toddgoates belongs to Todd Goates (location Utah, website toddgoates.com, per the profile read on 6 Nov 2026). Team size is not stated. The Simpsons: Hit and Run is named by the developer as an inspiration only; no names or assets from it were found. Narration and dialogue are pre-recorded audio files; the game was not played. The game's code was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 22 Apr 2026.
