About Draw the Life

A life-simulation card game in the browser by the solo developer EastFever, whose site and blog are in Korean. The developer says the idea mixes the dice checks of Dungeons & Dragons, the card draws of Magic: The Gathering and the life simulation of The Game of Life: instead of spinning a roulette wheel you draw picture cards and make a chain of choices that matter. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of the code to be written by AI, and the developer describes it as the first game they built with AI. In the official submission the entrant lists Codex, Claude Code and Antigravity; the developer's blog says Codex did the main development, Claude the planning data and translation, and Antigravity the main art design. It is a free prototype with Korean and English text, made for desktop browsers; the developer dropped mobile support to keep the jam scope small.

How it was built

CodexPrimary

The developer's blog post comparing three AI tools says Codex was used for the main development of the jam game and, in the end, for almost all of the development process; the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission lists “Codex + Claude Code + Antigravity” and answers Yes to the AI-written field. The same post says Antigravity (which the developer associates with Google's Gemini) was used for the main art design. How much of the code each tool wrote is not stated.

Claude CodeSecondary

Named in the official jam submission. The developer's blog post says Claude was used for the planning data and translation, and names Claude Code as Claude's development tool.

Development approach

Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 with three AI tools side by side, split by what the developer saw as each one's strength: Claude for planning and writing, Antigravity for design and feel, Codex for implementation. The developer later wrote that Codex ended up doing almost all of the work. The game runs on Three.js, per the jam submission.

Verification notes: Tools from two developer sources: the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (Codex + Claude Code + Antigravity; engine Three.js; submitted 25 Apr 2026; final rank 188, no award) and the developer's blog post of 15 May 2026 on how each tool was used. Rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. The retrospective (6 May 2026) gives the game idea, calls it the developer's first game made with AI, and lists the known problems: no tutorial, cards that do not fit the character's age, and no mobile support. Solo developer from the developer's homepage (#1인개발자). The Korean/English language toggle was found in the game's code. No calls to AI services were found in the game's code. The jam page's widget counter showed 358 plays for drawlife.eastfever.com on 3 Nov 2026 (observed; sessions, not players or downloads, so not recorded as a metric). The jam data lists the genre as Strategy; the developer calls it a life-sim card game. The X handle in the jam data (@mysticodoi) was not checked against the developer. The 0.2.0 update the developer planned was not confirmed.

Development history

  1. Entered in the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 (submission date in the official games data); the jam required at least 90% AI-written code. Final rank 188, no award.

  2. The developer publishes a prototype retrospective: reactions were quiet, players struggled without a tutorial; the developer says better card logic, a tutorial and UX fixes would make it a good game, and plans to continue with a 0.2.0 update after entering another AI game competition.

  3. Blog post on using Claude Code, Antigravity and Codex together for a month, with the split of work on this game.

A life-sim card game that replaces the spinning wheel with drawn picture cards; the concept is interesting. The developer's own review cites no tutorial, a hard start and cards that don't match the character's age. Amount of content unknown.
