About Escape from the Depths
An idle survival roguelite in the browser. Four heroes (a dwarf, an elf, a wizard and a ranger, each with their own weapon, reach and abilities) descend through a procedurally generated mine; you steer the lead hero while the others follow in formation and fight on their own. Light burns down as you go, so torches and the wizard's Staff Light matter, and halfway out an Ancient Flame wakes and begins hunting the party: every extra room you clear for gold, food and upgrades is a gamble against what is behind you. The run ends in a scripted climax on a bridge, where the mage stays behind so the company can cross, and some relics carry over between runs. The developer, R2games from Rio de Janeiro, made it for the VibeBlitz x Minds by Animoca Brands game jam in July 2026 and writes that every sprite, tile and screen is hand-drawn pixel art made for the jam (with a mouse), along with the music and sound effects, while Claude handled implementation across the whole build and Minds' Game Designer Mind produced the design documents the balance was tuned against. Free in the browser.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's jam submission lists Claude for “implementation: engine code, sprite and audio integration, animation systems, debugging” and says: “Claude handled implementation across the whole build: the procedural mine generator, the pursuit AI, the sprite and animation pipeline, the Web Audio system, and the choreographed bridge climax.” Which Claude product or model was used is not stated. Minds' Game Designer Mind (Animoca Brands) was used for design consultancy: per the developer it produced ten design documents, and the upgrade cost curve, the enemy health tiers and the threat-readability rules in the shipped game come from them. Art, music and sound were made by hand.
A browser game in JavaScript, delivered as a single HTML file, built during the VibeBlitz jam (13–27 July 2026), whose rules required Minds' Game Designer Mind to be used for at least 50% of production. The developer drew all sprites, tiles and screens as pixel art for the jam and made the soundtrack and sound effects; Claude wrote the implementation, and Game Designer Mind's design and balance documents shaped the economy and enemy tiers.

“Claude handled implementation across the whole build: the procedural mine generator, the pursuit AI, the sprite and animation pipeline, the Web Audio system, and the choreographed bridge climax.”Verification notes: Gameplay, art credits and AI use from the developer's VibeBlitz submission on vibecode.game (the entrant's own description and AI answers), re-read on 6 Nov 2026. The jam rule concerns Minds' Game Designer Mind, not code, so it is not counted as evidence; the evidence is the developer's statement that Claude did the engine code and handled implementation across the whole build. No AI code percentage is given. “Pursuit AI” in the submission means the enemy's chasing behaviour written in code, not an AI model in the game. Developer: the account R2games writes in the first person (“I used my mouse”), and its vibecode.game profile describes “a game enthusiast from Rio de Janeiro/Brazil building AI-assisted games”; no name or team size is given. vibecode.game gives the release date only as July 2026. The submission says an enemy deep in the mine, the SHADE, is a cameo of Dungeon Raising, another entry in the same jam on Verse8; we did not open that page. No jam placement is recorded. The web build was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. The game was not played.
