Rights holder / original work: Clawd, the Claude Code mascot (Anthropic)

The extra stage “Terminal in the Night Sky” features Clawd, the mascot of Anthropic's Claude Code, as an opponent. The README calls the game an unofficial fan work not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic, excludes Clawd's design and the code that builds the Clawd model from the MIT licence, and says the repository grants no rights to Clawd or to the Claude name. No source shows permission from Anthropic. The main game's characters are the developer's own. (GitHub)

About 狐火かぐら

狐火かぐら (FOXFIRE KAGURA) is a free 3D vertical-scrolling bullet-hell shooter for the browser. On a harvest-moon night when the moon refuses to rise, Inaho, an apprentice fox shrine maiden, takes to the sky over a thousand torii gates at dusk, a bamboo-grove river with floating lanterns and a moon shrine above a sea of clouds, to face three bosses: a tanuki, a two-tailed nekomata and a moon-rabbit princess, with 14 spell cards between them. Boss conversations use large 3D portraits, and declaring a spell card triggers a cut-in. Your hitbox is a small dot shown in focus mode; grazing bullets scores points, bombs clear the screen, and capturing a spell card without being hit or bombing earns a bonus. There are four difficulty levels, stage practice, a Music Room for every song you have heard, a colour-vision assist setting, and an extra stage, “Terminal in the Night Sky”, against Clawd, the mascot of Anthropic's Claude Code. Characters, backgrounds, bullets, music and sound effects are all generated in code, with no image or audio files. The README credits planning and direction to the developer, たぬ (tanuu5), and development to Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5, reasoning level MAX). In Japanese and English, with keyboard, gamepad and touch controls; free on the developer's GitHub Pages site. The code is MIT-licensed except for the four characters and Clawd.

How it was built

Verified

The README credits planning and direction to たぬ and development to Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5, reasoning level MAX). It says Claude Code made the bullet system, the stages and the three bosses' patterns, the 3D models of the heroine and the bosses, and the dialogue and ending; the 3D backgrounds, the music and the models of the yokai enemies were each handed to sub-agents (also Claude Opus 5.5) that Claude Code launched, and Claude Code integrated their work. Testing ran in headless Chrome on a real GPU, stepping frame by frame, with an auto-play bot that reads bullets ahead and dodges them, on every stage and difficulty. The Clawd extra stage, added after release, was made by Claude Code with Claude Opus 5.5 at reasoning level XHIGH, and version 1.2.0 again at MAX. In a note post the developer says this was about the only game where they gave a lot of direction; on the other works it was mostly a few exchanges and bug reports.

Supporting evidence
  • DeveloperDeveloper's note post of 24 Oct 2026: eight browser works, 狐火かぐら first among them, were made with Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) and published on GitHub between 9 and 23 Oct 2026; 狐火かぐら was about the only game where the developer gave a lot of direction. — note (たぬ / tank_ai)
Development approach

Directed by one developer, with Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) building the game and sub-agents making the backgrounds, music and enemy models. Characters are assembled from Three.js shapes and formulas, with hair, tails, sleeves and hakama bent in shaders and facial expressions redrawn on a canvas texture; instruments, songs and effects are synthesised with Web Audio. Built with Vite and published to GitHub Pages by GitHub Actions. Per the README, spell cards and grazing follow the conventions of the bullet-hell genre, while the characters (except Clawd), stages, patterns and music are original to the game; the designs of the four characters and the code that builds them are excluded from the MIT licence.
