About HexFire

An online wizard battle royale in the browser. Killing other players earns essence, and the game's own line sums up the risk: “Kill for Essence. Die and lose it all.” The entrant's pitch adds that every kill makes you a bigger target. Skill points go into damage, speed, range, blast and agility, the HUD has mine, build and magic modes and an ore called Ember Crystal, and a chat and a live player count show who else is online. The entrant names a childhood fondness for RuneScape and Minecraft as the inspiration. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Claude Code as the tool, and it finished 336th of 945 entries. Free in the browser.

Verification notes: Tool (Claude Code), engine (ThreeJS), genre (Action, Shooter), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (Yes), mobile (Yes) and portal (Yes) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted as “HexFire” on 30 Apr 2026, 14:33 UTC; final rank 336 of 945 entries, no award), re-read on 5 Nov 2026; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. The game page uses the spelling “Hexfire”. The code evidence rests on the jam rule and the entrant's answers; the game page itself says nothing about AI. RuneScape and Minecraft are named by the entrant as inspiration only; no third-party names or assets were found. Skills, modes and the essence rule from the game's script on 5 Nov 2026; the game was not played. The multiplayer server's domain (centrive.ai) was not checked for its relation to the developer. The game's code was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. Developer: X handle TeemuSor only (linked from the footer); no real name, location or team size is given. The jam page's widget counters showed 180 plays and 58 portal transfers for hexfi.re on 5 Nov 2026 (observed; plays are sessions, not players or downloads, so neither is recorded as a metric). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 30 Apr 2026.
