About 怪獣ドカン!

怪獣ドカン! (KAIJU DOKAN!) is a free browser game in which you control the giant monster Dokagon and smash up a bayside city at dusk. To clear the stage you have to destroy 40% of the city within four minutes; after that you can keep rampaging until time runs out to raise your score. Buildings are made of floor-sized blocks and crumble only where you hit them: knock out the base and a building collapses, and tall ones topple sideways into their neighbours. You punch, spin your tail, jump and stomp, roar to stagger helicopters and blow cars away, and breathe magma with energy built up from destruction, while combos raise the score multiplier up to ×5. Tanks and attack helicopters join in over time, and your HP recovers if you avoid damage for a while or bring a building down. It plays with mouse and keyboard, keyboard only, a gamepad or touch. The README says the graphics, sound effects and music are all generated in code, and that the developer, たぬ (tanuu5), used the AI coding tool Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5, effort Max) for development. In Japanese, free on the developer's GitHub Pages site; the code is MIT-licensed.

How it was built

Partially verified

The README says the AI coding tool Claude Code (model Claude Opus 5.5, effort Max) was used for development. In a note post the developer lists the game among the browser works that Opus 5.5 made, one a day, from 23 to 26 Sep 2026, and says all four were made with code only, without image or audio files. Neither source describes how the work was split between the developer and Claude.

Development approach

Developed with Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5, effort Max), in TypeScript with Three.js, Vite and Vitest. Per the README, the whole city's building blocks are drawn as one instanced mesh, with destruction, support checks (parts no longer connected to the ground fall) and collapse computed on the CPU; windows, roads, sky and sea are procedural shaders with bloom, and footsteps, explosions, collapses, roars and the looping drum and bass-line track are synthesised with the Web Audio API. The game rules run without the DOM or WebGL, so a bot can play the stage headlessly in Node for tests and balance reports.

Verification notes: AI use, rules, controls, tech stack and licence (MIT) come from the developer's repository README, read through raw.githubusercontent.com on 4 Nov 2026; the README links the play address, which loaded that day. The README has no update history, so the release date is not stated; the developer's note post of 27 Sep 2026 places the game among works made one a day from 23 to 26 Sep 2026. The bundled script contacts no AI services. The repository's stars and commit history were not checked (github.com was not reachable from our checker). Team size and location are not stated.
