About Tramlijn 2
Tramlijn 2 is a pixel-art tram driving simulator that runs in the browser, set on Amsterdam's tram line 2. You drive a tram through the city at dusk, past the canal ring, the Rijksmuseum and the Vondelpark and out to the post-war suburbs of Nieuw-West. The job is to stop on the mark at every halte, keep to the speed limits, obey the signals and stay alert: you hold a lever toward power or brake, snap it to coast, pull the emergency brake, acknowledge the vigilance alarm and ring the bell. Coloured bands show the target at each stop, and the dashboard shows the next stop, the timetable, the speed limit for the current section and the nearest signal ahead. The itch.io page gives an average session of about half an hour. The poster says they wrote a design document and Claude Code did all the work, from the code to pixel-style image generation and web research on tram physics and the real line's stops, distances and speed limits, in less than a day in total. Free in the browser on itch.io, keyboard only; the page lists it as in development.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn a post on r/vibecoding (28 Oct 2026, UTC) titled “I built a little tram driving game called Tramlijn 2 with Claude generating everything”, the poster says Claude Code was set up to do everything: “I basically just wrote a design document and it did all the work, from coding to pixel style image generation to researching the web for info on tram physics and the actual details of Tramlijn 2 with the stops, distances, speed limits etc.” Claude Code worked through an MCP server in ImagGenius, an image app the poster says they made, which generates raw images with local Stable Diffusion inference, and a third-party Aseprite MCP server to turn those images into sprites; beads was used for task tracking. The poster says it all took less than a day in total on the Pro plan. The post does not name a model. The itch.io page's AI disclosure ticks AI Assisted, Code and Graphics.

Per the poster, Claude Code worked from a written design document and did the coding, generated pixel-style images through a local Stable Diffusion MCP server and edited them into game sprites through an Aseprite MCP server, and researched tram physics and the real line's stops, distances and speed limits on the web. Tasks were tracked with beads. The page's controls and dashboard description come from the itch.io page.

“I basically just wrote a design document and it did all the work, from coding to pixel style image generation to researching the web for info on tram physics and the actual details of Tramlijn 2.”Verification notes: The Claude Code claim comes from the post on r/vibecoding by u/octopus_limbs (28 Oct 2026, 21:21 UTC), read from the Arctic Shift Reddit archive because reddit.com did not answer our checks; the post calls Tramlijn 2 “a game I made” and links this itch.io page. The Reddit name differs from the itch.io account makunochi, and neither page links the other's account, so the tie rests on that post alone; team size and location are not stated. The post also promotes ImagGenius, an App Store image app the poster says they made. Setting, controls, tips, the average session, the tags, the AI disclosure (AI Assisted, Code, Graphics) and the status “In development” come from the itch.io page (published 15 Oct 2026, 20:46 UTC; updated 25 Oct 2026, 15:24 UTC; checked 4 Nov 2026), which showed no rating. Tramlijn 2 is a real line of Amsterdam's tram network; the page uses real place names and does not name the operator. The engine is not stated. Nothing in the sources describes AI used during play. The game was not played.
