About 야구 못하면 또 환생함: 투수 키우기
야구 못하면 또 환생함: 투수 키우기 (roughly “If I'm bad at baseball I'm reborn again: raising a pitcher”; “Mound Reborn: Baseball Career” in the US App Store) is a pitching career game for iPhone and iPad. You raise one high-school pitcher through three years of training, relationships and important games, managing fatigue and injuries, with the aim of being picked in the professional draft. Ordinary games play out quickly; in the moments that matter you choose a pitch and a location, read the catcher's sign and the hitter's habits, and throw with a press-and-release slider, which the developer says uses the iPhone's haptics to give the throw a feel. Hitters adapt if you repeat yourself. If you are not drafted, you are reborn as a new player who keeps chosen memories from the last life, a roguelike element the developer added; if you are drafted, the career continues through pro seasons to retirement. The baseball world is fictional, with no real leagues, teams or players. The developer, Kim Sol, a former surgeon turned stay-at-home parent and solo app developer, told 요즘IT that the game was planned in detail with ChatGPT and then built in Codex, which also made design mock-ups, ran tests in the iOS simulator, took the store screenshots and handled App Store submission. Per the developer, it reached No. 1 among paid sports games in the Korean App Store. A one-off purchase with no ads or in-app purchases.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the 요즘IT interview (Korean, 30 Sep 2026) the developer describes the workflow: planning is done first with ChatGPT, then the plan documents are zipped and handed to Codex, which reads them and continues the development. For design, Codex's image generation makes several screen concepts, the developer picks parts, a design system is written down, and the real UI is built from it. Codex runs the iOS simulator to test the full flow and take the App Store screenshots, and submits through the App Store Connect API or by operating the browser; the developer checks on a real device at the end. With the app mostly finished, the developer gave Codex the goal “유료 게임으로 출시할 건데 App Store 1위를 할 수 있도록 만들어줘” (make it so it can reach No. 1 on the App Store as a paid game), and Codex set its own quantitative criteria, scored the game and improved weak points. The interview does not say how much code, if any, the developer wrote by hand. The developer mentions models such as “Fable” and “GPT 5.6 Sol” arriving around July 2026 as the prompt to try making a game, without saying which model Codex used.
Used for planning before any development: the developer asks ChatGPT to interview them about the game (audience, features, play style, monetization), sometimes answering dozens of questions, then has it turn the result into Markdown documents bundled as a zip file for Codex. The developer says most of the game's ideas, including the rebirth system and the title, were their own.
Planning-first vibe coding by one person: a detailed spec written with ChatGPT, then design, UI, development, simulator testing, store screenshots and submission done through Codex. The developer first tried a game engine but found it hard to get what they wanted, and built the game as a native iOS app instead, focusing on what the iPhone offers, such as haptics, rather than complex motion or graphics. It has no server, so running costs do not grow with sales, per the developer.

“어느 정도 앱을 완성한 다음 Codex에 목표를 설정하면서, “유료 게임으로 출시할 건데 App Store 1위를 할 수 있도록 만들어줘”라고 요청했죠.”Verification notes: AI use, the developer's background, the design and testing workflow, the No. 1 ranking and the sales figures come from the developer's own answers in the 요즘IT interview of 30 Sep 2026, which links this App Store listing and the developer's Threads account; the ranking and sales were not independently checked. The interview does not state in one sentence that AI wrote all or most of the code; the record rests on the developer's description of development done in Codex after planning in ChatGPT. Seller name, prices, release date (31 Jul 2026), version (1.3.1, 4 Nov 2026), age rating 4+ and languages from Apple's lookup data for the Korean and US stores; the 1.3.1 release notes say Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) is now supported. The Korean App Store showed 4.48 out of 5 from 204 ratings and the US store 5 out of 5 from 3 ratings on 4 Nov 2026 (observed; there is no App Store rating metric, so neither is recorded as one). The Google Play version linked from the game's website is not listed because Google Play is not a platform we track. The interview names the developer as Kim Sol; the link to SOLMATTER Co., Ltd. rests on the interview linking this listing. The developer's second game 프로게임단 키우기 is mentioned without an AI-coding statement and is not included. No source mentions generative AI running in the game.
