Iron Curtain Call
A fast cartoon-noir FPS set in an alternate 1965: punch wind-up robots for health, crack them open for ammo and set them on fire for armour. The solo developer says the whole codebase is written by Claude Code agents.

About Iron Curtain Call
Iron Curtain Call is a fast, single-player first-person shooter drawn as a rubber-hose cartoon and set in an alternate 1965, in the third year of World War III. Humanity has run out of soldiers, the Directorate has built an army of wind-up tin robots led by a supercomputer called the Supreme Chancellor, and you play Corporal Punishment, a silent soldier sent in because nobody else was available, with Colonel Panic on the radio. The combat is built around movement and taking resources from enemies: you double-jump, air-dash and grapple through arenas, punch a stunned robot (the Knuckle Sandwich) to get health back, crack a small one open with the Can Opener for ammunition and set robots alight with the Hot Take shoulder flamethrower to refill your armour. You can parry pink attacks and build toward a finishing move called the Encore. The weapons have names such as the Diplomat (a pump shotgun) and the Typewriter, and the campaign moves through bombed streets, a robot factory, a broadcast tower and an election carnival to theatrical mechanical bosses, with checkpoints, selectable difficulty, secrets and end-of-mission grades. The developer, a one-person studio in Turkey, says they write the design documents, the story and every joke and play every build, while Claude Code agents write the code in Godot 4.7: by 25 Oct 2026 the project held 3,929 commits made over 20 working days. Voices, some art, the cinematics and a few music cues were made with AI tools, and no AI runs during play. A free demo of the first mission (about 15 to 20 minutes) is on Steam for Windows, macOS and Linux; the full game, 12 chapters, is planned for 11 Mar 2027 on Windows and macOS.

How it was built
Partially verifiedIn r/ClaudeAI (29 Oct 2026) the developer writes: “The whole codebase is written by Claude Code agents from my design documents: the git history starts 29 September 2026 and by 25 October it held 3,929 commits over 20 working days. Godot 4.7.” The developer writes a story bible of about 3,100 lines and a design contract per chapter; a lead Claude Code session plans and merges, feature sessions run in the cloud, one per workstream (a robot, a boss, a level part, audio, integration), each on its own branch, and nothing merges without a headless check suite (zero script errors, a play bot that walks the level, navigation and geometry checks). The developer says the agents were excellent at systems, enemies, weapons, HUD and tooling, while level design, the story, the jokes and what gets cut stayed human; the demo's level went through four versions. The posts say they were drafted with the lead agent and edited by the developer. No model is named.

- Developerr/playmygame (30 Oct 2026): the developer did the design, the writing and the playtesting; “the code was written with Claude Code agents”, the voices are ElevenLabs and some art is Higgsfield. — Reddit (u/Aware_Bell1295)
A Godot 4.7 project built by parallel Claude Code agents from the developer's design documents, per the developer's Reddit posts: one chapter at a time, each playtested by the developer before the next starts, with a headless test suite gating every merge. The developer reports engine and platform problems the agents ran into, such as a Godot audio-thread race in headless runs and about a minute of shader compilation on Macs, that needed measured workarounds. Assets, per the posts and the Steam disclosure: voices from ElevenLabs (about 2,800 recorded lines), some art and the cinematics from Higgsfield, and a score made with FluidSynth plus a few ElevenLabs cues; the Steam disclosure adds that some store text and translations were prepared with AI assistance. The Steam page says generative AI is not used during play and the game does not connect to external AI services.

Verification notes: The code claim comes from the developer's own Reddit posts (r/ClaudeAI 29 Oct 2026, r/aigamedev and r/playmygame 30 Oct 2026, read through the Arctic Shift archive on 4 Nov 2026); each links the game's Steam page. The developer-written AI disclosure on the Steam page (re-read on 4 Nov 2026) covers AI-assisted voiceovers, a few music tracks, 2D artwork, cinematic clips and some store text and translations; it does not mention code. The link between the Reddit account and Whale Dev Studios rests on those posts, which name the game and introduce the poster as its solo developer; the game's website ironcurtaincall.com links the same Steam page. The commit count and 20 working days are the developer's figures for the whole 12-chapter project, not only the demo; the full game is not out. Game features from the Steam description and ironcurtaincall.com; the full-game date, platforms and languages from the Steam store API, and the demo's from the demo app (5451220). The store page showed no user reviews on 4 Nov 2026. Steam's auto-generated regional age ratings are 14 (Brazil) and 16 (Germany) for violence, alcohol/tobacco and language; the developer has added no mature-content note.
