About Mana Panic

An action roguelite in the browser. The developer's site lists it as a “Roguelite inspired by Tibia, Dark Souls, and Vampire Survivors”, and the jam pitch reads “Simple controls, action-packed, easy to learn hard to master”. The game's code and wiki show four classes (knight, paladin, druid and sorcerer), spells, monsters, equipment and potions, bosses with guard breaks, campaign maps with shrines and NPC traders, an endless mode, ascension levels, leaderboards and co-op parties. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; in the official submission the entrant lists Codex as the tool and, asked for the engine, answers “no idea bro it was vibe coded :D”. It finished 888th of 945 entries. Development continued after the jam: the patch notes reach version 1.3.11 (23 Jul 2026), and the terms describe it as an in-development single-player and co-op browser game from High Leverage Studios. Free to play in the browser; accounts unlock premium time, bought with Luxcoins, which is needed to create co-op parties.

How it was built

Partially verified
CodexPrimary

In the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Codex as the tool, answers Yes to the AI-written field and, in the engine field, writes “no idea bro it was vibe coded :D”. No devlog describes how Codex was used or which model ran in it. The submission covers the jam version only; whether the later updates were also written with AI is not stated.

Supporting evidence
Development approach

Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 with Codex; the entrant says it “was vibe coded” and does not know which engine it uses. The current build is a single Vite JavaScript bundle with an account system, a premium shop and co-op lobbies. After the jam the game kept being updated, with patch notes up to version 1.3.11 on 23 Jul 2026 and a generated wiki on docs.manapanic.com.

Verification notes: Tool (Codex), the engine answer, genre (Action), pitch, inspiration (“Tibia, Vampire Survivors, Risk of Rain, and Slay The Spire”) and the multiplayer (No) and mobile (Yes) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 22 Apr 2026, 21:32 UTC; final rank 888 of 945 entries, no award), re-read on 5 Nov 2026; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Developer: the jam data gives the X handle marcoworms; the X profile @MarcoWorms (display name Worms) lists worms.io, and worms.io (Marco Worms's project list, last updated 21 Apr 2026) lists Mana Panic with a link to manapanic.com. The game's terms (15 Jun 2026) and wiki name High Leverage Studios as the operator; how Marco Worms relates to that studio and the team size are not stated. Version 1.3.11 and its date from the patch notes; the oldest notes shown on the page include version 0.2.329 (10 Jun 2026). Classes, premium plans (100 to 5,000 Luxcoins) and co-op rules come from the game's script and terms; the game was not played. The code contains a switch that can turn off guest play; the terms say some features can be used as a guest. No calls to AI services were found in the game's script. The developer's earlier games (Necrosphere and others on worms.io) were made before this and are not part of this record. The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 22 Apr 2026.
