About Maze Warden TD: Tower Defense
A mobile tower defense game in which you draw the path yourself. You place walls anywhere as long as a route stays open, wind the road back on itself past your strongest towers and see a preview of how enemies will reroute before you commit. A 300-level campaign runs across fifteen regions with their own terrain, bosses and rules, such as tides that flood causeways or rune gates that teleport walkers, and there are 16 towers with upgrade ranks and specialisations, active powers, a daily seeded siege with a global leaderboard, a weekly event and endless survival. It needs an internet connection. The game comes from Brownaro Studios, a two-person studio in South Carolina founded in 2026, which says on r/aigamedev that it is built in Godot 4 and that Claude Code writes most of the code while the developer designs, plays every build and decides what stays. Claude wrote a headless script that plays levels 201 to 300 through in the real game scene before release, per the post. The studio said in early October 2026 that the game started with AI sprites and that its gameplay art was then a Craftpix asset kit, with the icon and some menu icons made in Recraft and CC0 audio; version 1.6.3 later redrew every tower, creature and effect. Free with ads and optional purchases on the App Store; also on Android.
How it was built
VerifiedThe studio's post says the game is built in Godot 4 and that Claude Code writes most of the code, while the poster does the design, plays every build and decides what stays. When levels 201 to 300 were added, Claude wrote a headless script that plays each of them start to finish in the real game scene and checks that every wave resolves, the next level unlocks and each new mechanic appears on the right wave; all 100 passed before the developer opened them on a phone. Claude also pulled analytics from Firebase showing that a mid-run bonus chest had been offered more than 1,300 times in a week without anyone watching its ad, which led to changing the reward.
Design and playtesting by the studio, code mostly by Claude Code, per the post. The studio's lessons: have the AI write tests that play the game rather than only unit tests, point it at the analytics, and make difficulty testable, as with Warden's Aid, which offers to weaken enemies after three losses in a row while stars still count. Art moved from early AI sprites to a Craftpix asset kit for towers, creatures, terrain and effects, with the app icon and some menu icons made in Recraft; music and sound effects are CC0, per the post.

“Godot 4, and Claude Code writes most of the code. I do the design, play every build and decide what stays.”Verification notes: AI use from a post by u/BrownaroStudios on r/aigamedev, read through an archived snapshot of the subreddit listing captured 2 Oct 2026 (the post's own snapshot failed to load; the original reddit.com URL was not checked). The studio's website, which is the App Store seller website, links that Reddit account and lists this game with the same App Store link, so the post is tied to the seller. “Most of the code” is the studio's wording, so no code share is recorded. The post is written by one person (“I do the design”) but says “we” about the studio; the two-person team is from the studio's site. The site says every title is made in-house (see conflicts). Release date, version history, prices, requirements and languages from the US App Store page and Apple's lookup data. Version 1.6.3 (11 Oct 2026), after the post, redrew every tower, creature and effect; whether the art is still the Craftpix kit was not checked. Version 1.2.0 notes mention an original orchestral soundtrack, while the post calls the music CC0; not checked further. The App Store showed 5.0 out of 5 from 5 ratings on 3 Nov 2026 (observed; not recorded as a metric). The Google Play version (com.brownaro.mazewardentd), linked from the post and the studio site, is not listed because Google Play is not a platform we track. No source mentions generative AI running in the game.

- Made in-house
- The studio's website says every title is its own, “concept, code, art, and sound”, and is designed, built and polished in-house.
