About Ragebait
A one-on-one online platform shooter in the browser, played with your voice as well as mouse and keyboard. You need a microphone: the louder you are, the faster your weapon charges, and short clips of each player's voice are played to the other side (a volume setting can turn the other player's voice down or off). Each fighter has a number of stocks, and the match ends when one side runs out. You can search for a quick match, host a private game and share a join code, or practise against a bot, with a tutorial at the start. The entrant pitches it as a “1v1 Voice based FPS Smash bros” and says they work in AAA games and wanted to make a fun experimental game on the web. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Cursor as the tool. It finished 66th of 945 entries. Free, on desktop with mouse, keyboard and a microphone; the submission marks it as not mobile-ready.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Cursor as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. The game page does not mention AI, and no devlog describes how Cursor was used or which model ran it. The submission covers the jam version only.
- OfficialJam rule 3: at least 90% of the code has to be written by AI. — Vibe Jam (Pieter Levels)
Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 on Three.js, with Cursor named as the tool. Online matches run through PartyKit. The voice mechanic is local signal processing: the game reads the microphone with the browser's Web Audio analyser and turns loudness into weapon charge, and records short clips with the browser's media recorder to play to the opponent; no speech recognition is involved. Bug reports go to a Google Form.

“I work in AAA and the industry is in the shitter right now, so i simply wanted to mess around and make a fun experimental game on the web and the jam seemed the perfect place to experiment.”Verification notes: Tool (Cursor), engine, genre (“Action, Shooter”), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (Yes), mobile (No) and portal flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 29 Apr 2026, 09:53 UTC; final rank 66 of 945 entries, no award); rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. The pitch's “Smash bros” is the entrant's own comparison; no names or assets from that series were found. Developer: the jam data gives the X profile SoyBoyRoyy (display name soyboyroy, bio “maker and shaker”), which the game's menu credits and links; the entrant says they work in AAA games, but no real name, studio, location or team size is given. Modes, stocks, the microphone requirement and the voice-playback setting come from the game page and its script, where the weapon-charge code reads microphone loudness (settings named voiceCharge…). The game's code talks only to its PartyKit server, a Google Form for bug reports and the jam widget; no calls to AI or speech-recognition services were found. The jam page's widget counters showed 181 plays and 42 portal transfers for ragebait-project.vercel.app on 4 Nov 2026 (observed; sessions, not players or downloads, so not recorded as metrics). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 29 Apr 2026.
