About Almost Surgery
A dark-comedy surgery game in the browser. You run an unlicensed operating room in a basement flat: check the door camera, ask each alien patient what they want, then saw off limbs and attach replacements from your stash until the body matches the order, cut off warts with scissors, pull worms out with forceps, or give electrotherapy to the head and release inside the right timing band. Correct work pays and guesswork does not; the mail on your desk brings nervous neighbours, a building “walk” that is not an inspection, and a plea to pay every night for a grandfather's real hospital treatment. The developer's pitch is “Saw, Cut, Electrocute for money”, and the submission names Vibe Jam 2025, Papers, Please and Mike Klubnika as inspiration. It was made in Godot for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; in the official submission the entrant lists Codex as the tool. It won the “Most Cursed” special award. Free in a desktop browser.
Content note: Our note from the game's own text (no developer content warning was found): graphic surgery played for dark comedy, with blood effects, sawn-off limbs and worms pulled from patients; some patients ask for electrotherapy to treat problems that include suicidal thoughts.
