About 封校 60 秒

封校 60 秒 (“campus lockdown, 60 seconds”) is a free text-based survival game in the browser, set at a fictional modern university on the day a zombie outbreak seals the campus. The game draws five of ten students at random and you pick one to play as “me”; the other students are NPCs who act on their own, refusing, following, betraying or changing their relationships according to their personality, state and how much they trust you. Each day you send people out on one to three actions, such as searching the canteen for food, raiding the campus clinic for medicine or trying the broadcast room; random encounters can interrupt a trip and force a choice, and each day ends with a written log and a night-time tally of supplies, injuries, infection and relationships. Progress is saved in the browser and can be exported and imported. The developer, posting on V2EX as zzdz, says spare Codex Pro quota went into having Codex make the game, and published the full design prompt it was built from: Next.js and TypeScript, the darkly comic diary tone of 60 Seconds!, the dispatch-and-moral-choice structure of This War of Mine and the survival pressure of Project Zomboid. In Chinese.

Content note: Zombie-outbreak survival with infection, deaths, betrayal and a cult storyline; the design prompt the developer published allows explicit gore in the text, while asking that it serve survival pressure and black humour rather than shock. (V2EX (zzdz))

How it was built

The developer's V2EX post (23 Jul 2026) is titled “codex pro 用不完,尝试让他做了一个第一人称校园丧尸生存文字跑团游戏” (Codex Pro quota left over, so I tried having it make a first-person campus zombie survival text RPG) and publishes the complete prompt the game was built from. The prompt tells the AI to develop a Next.js + TypeScript web game and specifies the start screen, character draw, NPC autonomy, permanent character states and personality drift, the daily action loop, encounters, UI layout for desktop and mobile, the tone of the writing and a list of things not to do.

Development approach

Built by Codex from one long design prompt that the developer published in full. The prompt names three games as references (the absurd, darkly comic diary style of 60 Seconds!, the dispatch, exploration and moral choices of This War of Mine, and the survival pressure of Project Zomboid), fixes ten named students with paired relationships, and asks for a front-end-only game with localStorage saves, export and import, and no back end. The prompt mentions streaming AI-generated story as a possible later addition; the current build makes no AI calls. After players reported that everyone ended up exhausted with nothing to do, the developer replied that fatigue had been changed to raise risk instead.

Verification notes: AI use and design come from the developer's V2EX post (23 Jul 2026, 15:57 Beijing time), re-read on 6 Nov 2026; the post title says the developer had Codex make the game and the body is the full prompt. The post does not say how much of the code the AI wrote or whether the developer edited it by hand. Gameplay statements were checked against the live game's text on 6 Nov 2026 (start screen: five of ten students drawn at random, you control only yourself, the others act on their own; save import is present). Features the prompt asks for beyond that (multi-day chapters, factions, multiple endings) were not checked in play. The game's scripts make no calls to AI services (checked 6 Nov 2026). The title echoes 60 Seconds!, which the prompt names as a style reference; no names or assets from that game were found. Team size and location are not stated. The game was not played to an ending.

Development history

  1. The developer posts the game and the full Codex prompt on V2EX and adjusts fatigue the same day after player feedback.
