About Acropolis Rising
Acropolis Rising is a free city-builder for the browser set in ancient Greece, which the developer, Lewis Broadhurst, calls a small homage to Zeus: Master of Olympus. You lay out a city on a 20×14 tile map of grass, coast, forest, hill, mountain and water. Paths connect everything: producers get 10% more output next to one, and food only reaches houses along a path. Houses do not grow on their own; an agora has to walk food to them, and a gym, theatre or college within three tiles turns them into apartment blocks with twice the room. Lumber camps, quarries, mines, docks and farms feed forges, granaries and a storehouse, and temples to Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Hephaestus and Athena turn divine favour into blessings such as a fishing run, a harvest, an industry boost, gold or a happiness lift. Idle workers cost you, and starvation costs more. There is a tutorial; no install or account, and the city is saved in the browser. The README says almost all of the code was written by Claude Code. In English.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe README's history section says: “Almost all of the code was written by Claude Code.” It does not describe the workflow further.
Started as an app inside the developer's testing-grounds Nx workspace and later split into its own repository with its history, per the README. A pure TypeScript simulation (map generation, seeded random numbers, the tick loop, pathing, saving) with unit tests, under a thin React UI with a canvas renderer; built with Vite and pnpm and published to GitHub Pages on every push to main.

“Almost all of the code was written by Claude Code.”Verification notes: Gameplay, stack, licence (MIT) and the AI statement come from the repository README, read through raw.githubusercontent.com on 6 Nov 2026. “Almost all” is quoted as written; no share is recorded. The game loaded on 6 Nov 2026 (html lang en); its scripts make no calls to AI services. Zeus: Master of Olympus is named in the README only as the inspiration; the game has its own name, and the gods are from Greek mythology; no assets from that game were found. No release date is given, and the repository creation date was not checked (the GitHub API was not reachable from our checker). Developer: the repository's LICENSE names Lewis Broadhurst as copyright holder (2026), on the GitHub account LewisBroadhurst. Team size and location are not stated. The game was not played.
