About Astral Siege: Shadows of Azathogros

An action strategy game in the browser set on the Firmament, a disc of dreaming light that serves as the whole tactical map. You play the Dreamer, who holds the dream together with Zoetropic Light. Dreamons pour through a rift and corrupt the twelve Zoetropic shards that anchor the dream; you stand in a healthy shard's sanctuary and defend it long enough to bring it into alignment, fire bolts of light, recharge at shards and unlock a Psychic Blast area attack. Azathogros first commands the invasion from the rift and later materialises to hunt you. Aligning all twelve shards or breaking Azathogros saves the dream; losing three shards collapses it. You move with WASD or the arrow keys, drag and scroll to pan and zoom, and can click figures to read lore. The entrant's pitch reads “Align your Zoetropic Shards, drive back the Dreamons, and defeat Azathogros, the ancient madness stalking your dream.”, and the villain comes from a short story the entrant wrote years earlier, The Blackdrifter's Dawn. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Codex as the tool. It finished 400th of 945 entries. Free in the browser on desktop.
