About Containment
A first-person action game in the browser built around one shared boss. Every player fights alone in their own instance, with no lobby or voice chat, but all of them hit the same boss, whose “integrity” bar is shared across the internet. You move with WASD, jump with Space and fire with the mouse, take out the boss's four weak points in each phase and survive with three hit points; the boss goes through four phases, and when it falls the game counts how many times the AI has been contained before it returns stronger. The entrant pitches it as “Strangers across the internet hitting the same boss. When it dies, it comes back stronger.”, says the idea was to see whether the internet could beat something together without talking, and adds that a narrative explains why the AI must be contained. The AI in the story is a fictional enemy, not a call to an AI service. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Claude Code as the tool. It finished 127th of 945 entries. Free in the browser on a subdomain of the developer's site, with on-screen joysticks for phones.
How it was built

“I wanted to know if the internet could beat something together without talking. No lobby, no party, no voice chat. Solo instances, one shared health bar.”Verification notes: Tool (Claude Code), engine (ThreeJS), genre (Action), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (Yes), mobile (Yes) and portal (Yes) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 12 Apr 2026, 13:07 UTC; final rank 127 of 945 entries, no award), re-read on 4 Nov 2026; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Developer: the jam data gives the X handle daicandev, whose profile's display name is Dairon Canel and links daican.dev; the game runs on containment.daican.dev. Neither the profile nor daican.dev mentions the game, and team size is not stated. Controls, phases, weak points and on-screen texts (“BOSS INTEGRITY”, “AI CONTAINED”, “HUMANITY WINS... FOR NOW”) come from the game's script; the game was not played, and the narrative the entrant mentions was not read. The game's code connects to its own Convex backend and the jam widget; no calls to AI services were found. The jam page's widget counters showed 1,296 plays and 7,583 portal transfers for containment.daican.dev on 4 Nov 2026 (observed; plays are sessions, not players or downloads, so neither is recorded as a metric). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 12 Apr 2026. Other games named Containment are unrelated; the slug includes “vibe-jam” to tell them apart.
