About POPIN

A top-down survivor roguelite in the browser with simple shapes and heavy hit effects. You move with WASD or the arrow keys and dash with Space while your weapon fires at enemies automatically; waves keep coming, from fast chasers that rush you to chargers that dash in a straight line enemies that split into smaller ones on death and a support enemy that launches nearby enemies at you, with boss fights in between. After each cleared wave, the coins picked up from enemies buy upgrades in an evolution shop, such as chain lightning, frost, poison or bleed rounds, turrets, a shield and dash upgrades, so every run builds differently. Scores go on a leaderboard, and a “What's New” panel lists the patches released since the jam. The menu credits “Made by: @ChessHerreros”; the entrant writes that they love modern roguelites with simple visuals and juicy effects and care about making games accessible to players new to the genre. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Cursor as the tool. It finished 518th of 945 entries. Free in the browser, played with a keyboard.
