About Riposte: Frontline
Riposte: Frontline is a free first-person shooter that runs in the browser on computers and phones, with nothing to download. You play team deathmatch, free for all or domination, solo against bots or online with friends: lobbies for up to 8 players are joined with a five-character code or an invitation link, and online matches run browser to browser. There are loadout classes with weapons, attachments and camouflage, ten outfits (six of them to unlock), killstreaks with radio callouts, several maps and a killcam, and with an account, levels, statistics, a leaderboard and friends. It supports keyboard and mouse, gamepads and touch controls, and can be installed to a phone's home screen. The developer, credited in the game's menu as BenDBS, says they are not a game developer and calls it very inspired by the first Call of Duty games, while the repository README says it is in the spirit of modern Call of Duty games. The developer started from what Claude Opus 5.5 could make in one shot and kept iterating on it for a few weeks, and says almost everything is code written by Claude Code, with three.js and no game engine, and that the maps and weapons are built in code with very few external assets. A source snapshot of version 5.6.0 is public under the MIT licence, without the name, logo, music and soldier animations. In English and French.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn a post on r/aigamedev (16 Oct 2026, UTC) the developer says that when Opus 5.5 came out they wanted to see what it could do in one shot, then kept iterating on that first result for a few weeks: “Almost everything is code written by Claude Code, with three.js and no game engine.” The developer describes each change in French, Claude makes it and shows screenshots from the game, and the developer tests it on a dev version before it goes live. Small, precise requests worked much better than big ones, the developer adds: one request to rework all the maps at once launched hundreds of agents for hours and used up credits for almost nothing. The game's menu credits “Vibe codé avec Claude Code par BenDBS” (vibe coded with Claude Code by BenDBS).

- DeveloperSecond Reddit post (25 Oct 2026): calls it the browser FPS “I've been building with Claude Code” and offers the source to show “how a game like this comes together with an AI”. — Reddit (u/Inevitable_Salad_128)
Started from an Opus 5.5 one-shot and then iterated with Claude Code over a few weeks, per the developer, who says the game feel (aim, recoil, sounds) took much more time than adding features and that keeping the game light enough for phones was a constant fight. Per the README, the JavaScript source files, written in French with an English text file for the English version, are joined and injected into one HTML page by a Python build script; all geometry, from maps and scenery to weapons and soldiers, is built in code with no imported 3D model, and visual tests open the game in Chromium. Per NOTICE.md, textures and skies come from Poly Haven and ambientCG (CC0), the music was made with Suno and the soldier animations were baked from Mixamo. Accounts, the leaderboard, friends and the lobby server run on the official site's server side, which is not in the repository.

“Almost everything is code written by Claude Code, with three.js and no game engine.”Verification notes: AI use comes from the developer's two posts on r/aigamedev by u/Inevitable_Salad_128 (16 Oct 2026, 07:10 UTC, and 25 Oct 2026, 13:34 UTC), read from the Arctic Shift Reddit archive because reddit.com did not answer our checks, and from the credit in the game's menu; the repository README does not mention Claude. Features come from the game page, its built-in changelog and the README; the README and NOTICE.md were read through raw.githubusercontent.com, so the repository's stars and commit history are unchecked. The changelog in the game page (checked 4 Nov 2026) has 145 versions, from 1.0.0 on 28 Sep 2026 (online lobbies and team deathmatch) to 5.10.5 on 4 Nov 2026; version 2.17.0 (4 Oct 2026) added the English and French versions and a language option. The first public release date is not stated. The developer name BenDBS is from the site's menu credit and author tag, the X handle Benjoslocos from the page's twitter:creator tag; the GitHub account is BenDBSS. Call of Duty is named by the developer as inspiration only: the README and NOTICE.md list no Call of Duty names or assets, though the page's internal meta tags are named cod-relay and cod-build, and the changelog compares the controller layout, the fixed touch joystick and the spawn rules to Call of Duty and Call of Duty Mobile. The page's security policy also allows a ONE store H5 SDK (onestore.net); we did not check what it is used for. Team size and location are not stated (the developer works in French). No AI is used as a gameplay mechanic; the bots are game logic. The site's privacy text says each uploaded profile picture is checked automatically by Claude (Anthropic) and that, at the moderators' request, a reported account can be pre-analysed by Claude, with a person making the decision; this is account moderation, not part of play. The game was not played.
